Sports

Exercising and playing sports is a fantastic way to balance the stress associated with Law School and get the endorphins pumping. There are many ways to get involved ranging from social to competitive to even just supporting our Law Lions! There’s truly something for everyone regardless of your skill level. We have a few exciting sporting events planned for the year and we’d love to see you get involved.

ELM Games

This fun tournament sees Law go head to head with both the Engineering and Med faculties in a variety of sports. The day will be held down at the Auckland Domain in Semester 1 with the date still to be confirmed. After the tournament we’ll head to the revamped Shads for some post-game bevy’s and a bit of a boogie so we hope to see you there!

Interfaculty Tournaments

Interfaculty sport sees the Law Faculty compete against other faculties across ten sports throughout the year. Sports include Cricket, Touch, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee, Netball, Rugby, Volleyball and Futsal!

The competitions are either held on campus at the sport and recreation centre during weekdays and over the weekend at the University of Auckland fields. A number of sports are one-day tournaments and other some are weekly or longer competitions. These events are great for law students to meet others from different years and a good opportunity to support their peers at the matches and finals.

UniM8s

Grab your mates and register your interest for the Unim8s social leagues. If you’re not so competitive and just want to have a laugh and blow off some steam this is a great way to do it. Skill set and ability is not a must as Unim8’s invites anyone and everyone who wants to to participate!

Usually these games are held in the evening at the University Rec center with sports including; Netball, Lacrosse, Futsal, Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee.
