AULSS is committed to hosting a number of events and activities that have both a wellness and educational focus. These include the Dentonn Kensington Swan mentoring programme, Recruitment Workshops, Russell McVeagh study series, and various wellness initiatives that will be held throughout the year.

AULSS hosts competitions for law students to enter every year. These are increasingly popular! Competitions are a fantastic avenue to develop practical legal skills which are not taught in the lecture theatre. Winners of these competitions have the opportunity to compete against other New Zealand law schools. If they are successful, then they may get the opportunity to compete internationally.

Sports are an excellent way to supplement law studies, and participation provides an awesome opportunity to meet new friends. You can participate in sport by getting involved in interfaculty tournaments, Law v Med, Round the Bays and attending the infamous Log O’ Wood.

The AULSS Social Officers host a variety of events that provide a fun and necessary contrast from the stresses of studying law, and an opportunity to make lifelong friends. These include Law Steins, a cocktail evening, and the end of year BBQ.  Additional events that have been organised in the past include pub-crawls, T-shirt night, and the law camp ‘Redemption’ party.

Media is all about communication. This year, the AULSS website will be the one stop shop for everything law. Come here to keep up to date, scroll through the gallery, or drop us a line. Verbatim is the magazine put out by AULSS media for law students. The magazine features law school updates and relatable content for law students. Verbatim publishes (almost!) anything and is always looking for contributors. Get in touch to be involved!
