Kia ora, we’re Max and Will and we’re your AULSS Competitions Officers for 2020.

Competitions are a great way for you to gain practical skills for your legal careers, whether it be through negotiating a position for your client, examining a witness or interviewing a client. We’re here to make sure that these comps are run inclusively and for the benefit of all law students.

Feel free to approach us for a chat, we’re friendly and always happy to help out with anything competitions or otherwise at law school. Nga Mihi!

Will: Hi everyone! My name is Will and I am one of your Competitions Officers for 2020. Now in my fourth year of Law and Commerce, I’m so excited to provide some great events for the year ahead! Participating in AULSS competitions is a fantastic way to hone practical legal skills through competing in one of a number of our events including Negotiation, Client Interviewing and Witness Examination competitions. As a Part II student, you are eligible to compete in our junior competitions, which will be held in Semester Two. Make sure you keep an eye out for our updates on these on the AULSS FB page!

Max:

My name is Max Kwan and I’m stoked to be the Competitions Officer for 2020! Throughout my law school career I’ve loved competitions. Whether that be researching, preparing, competing or winning. I’ve loved it so much I even decided to run them myself.

I am determined to ensure competitions are inclusive, accessible and fun this year. Furthermore I’m proud to be part of an executive who are deeply committed to the wellbeing and prosperity of all law students at The University of Auckland.
